Learn about how to get experience as a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior as a ChemE undergraduate at UMASS.
GENERAL BODY MEETING #2
If something needs to happen, you will make time. At our next general body meeting, we'll be showing you the life of different types of Chemical Engineering students and how they stay organized.
Come and check out our organizational tips, the unveiling of our website, and how to get involved at the Regional Conference at UConn.
Monday at 5:45pm in Goessman 64
ChE tutoring is available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 6:00-9:00 PM starting Monday, February 3rd in the CAVE. The CAVE is located in room 67A Goessmann Lab and the entrance code is available if you are a ChemE.
If you are having trouble, please go see a tutor. We are lucky to have such a resource.
Gathering of the Beer.
Just a reminder that if you have brewed beer, you need to submit it at Dave's house by no later than 6:00pm Friday 31st. His address is 623 East Pleasant Street, and it is where the competition will be held Saturday. It is right off campus, near Sylvan. Everyone should get to his house by 4:00pm Saturday (preferably before) if you plan on attending the event. All are invited!
Those of you who wish to attend the first brianstorming lunch should meet me outside the UPub by 12:20pm Friday 31st, when we'll head to the Hatch to find a table. If you're a late, no problem, just come and try to find us. I look forward to seeing some of you there to talk and brainstorm solutions to exciting problems in science and technology!
General Body Meeting #1
AIChE would like to open the semester with a 30-40 minute chapter meeting on Thriving as an Overworked Chemical Engineer. We recognize that being a ChemE is hard for most of us--even unbearably hard--so the first meeting will be a discussion about how you can still enjoy life even under all the pressure. The meeting will be this upcoming Monday, 1/27, at 5:30pm in Goessman 64. We are aware that the juniors may have a discussion running until that time, so feel free to come late if you are in a similar situation. We intend on having these short and focused chapter meetings often throughout the semester (most likely bi-weekly).
Additionally, Brainstorming Lunches are the next big thing! Brainstorming is something we believe in at AIChE, and as such Luke will be hosting these every week. These lunches will involve talking about science and technology, with a focus on looking towards the future for what can be accomplished. If interested, please come to this first meeting so that an optimal time and day of the week can be determined.
Finally, the First AIChE Brew Competition will be Saturday, 2/1. An email with more details will be sent out to all official AIChE members. We look forward to tasting your creations and crowning the first Brew Kings of AIChE!
We hope to see you all at the first meeting on Monday!
