AIChE Executive Board
The UMass Chapter of AIChE is part of a national professional organization comprised of members whose objectives are to advance chemical engineering through theory and practice, to maintain a high professional standard, and to serve society as engineers. Our chapter in particular is committed to preparing our members for their professional lives after college as well as helping them to make the most of these years in college. We believe strongly in merging work with fun. We don't only do what we have to do: we also try to do what we want to do. We want to learn about the world, work hard to make a difference, and enjoy our lives while we do it.
This year, our chapter has been working hard to provide students with professional development activities as well as social events and friendly competitions.
Students of all years are welcome and encouraged to join! Membership will get you on our mailing list as well as give you discounts to many of the AIChE events.
Interested in joining? Show up to our next chapter meeting, or send an email to email@example.com.
Dues for the 2016-2017 academic year are $20 and can be paid to any member of the AICHE Executive Board
If you'd like to get involved with the Student Chapter, come by our chapter meetings or to any of our events. Talk to us to find out how you can help with the Northeast Regional Conference, ChemE Car Competition, or our free tutoring program.
Check out the tabs at the top of this page to learn more about any of these activities.
Learn more about our leadership:
A Senior Chemical Engineering student, I am focused on gaining industry experience in biochemical and biotech fields. At school I stay busy as an Engineering Tour Guide while at home in eastern Massachusetts I occupy my weekends with Irish Step Dance.
The majority of the way through my chemical engineering degree, I have come to know and love busy days and long nights. I enjoy playing ice hockey and going to improv comedy shows. I love thunderstorms and running in the brisk late fall weather
I am a Chemical Engineering student from Douglas, MA. I plan on obtaining a concentration in biochemical engineering and going on to graduate school. In my free time I enjoy playing basketball, guitar and hanging out with friends.
As a ChemE Junior, my academic interests lie in the intersection of materials science and biology. In my free time I like to hike, read, cook, go to concerts, and visit historical landmarks.
I am a ChemE & Physics double major and have worked on ChemECar since my freshman year. Planning on attending grad school for particle physics. When I'm not in Goessman, LGRT, or Hasbrouck, you can find me at Hamp eating or at the Southwest basketball courts
Senior Class Representative
As a Senior Chemical Engineering student, you'll find me doing research in LSL most days. I am focusing my studies on biomedical engineering and biochemistry. Once I graduate, I plan to do work in the medical device industry. When I'm not on the college grind, I enjoy reading Stephen King novels and following my favorite sports teams - Chelsea FC, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots..
Junior Class Representative
I am a Junior Chemical engineering student who is also heavily involved in research.
Sophomore Class Representative
I am a second year chemical engineering student and research assistant. My research interests lie at the intersection of tissue engineering and biomaterial technology platforms, specifically looking at the role mechanobiology plays in the regulation of stem cells and how the local microenvironment can affect their form and function. Outside of class I like to read and play the violin.
As a Junior in Chemical Engineering my interests are in the fields of energy and thermodynamics. When not busy with school work I like to play soccer, read and meet new people.
